Missouri proposes Bitcoin Strategic Reserve Fund to diversify state investments

U.S. Missouri Representative Ben Keathley introduced House Bill 1217 to establish a Bitcoin (BTC) Strategic Reserve Fund, allowing the state treasurer to invest in and hold BTC as a hedge against fiat inflation, Cointelegraph reported. The bill also mandates government entities in Missouri to accept cryptocurrency for taxes, fees and fines, with payees covering transaction fees.
