U.S. nonfarm payroll employment increased by 143,000 in January, falling short of the 169,000 increase anticipated by market analysts, according to Investing.com based on data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. The unemployment rate fell to 4.0%, slightly better than the forecasted 4.1%.
