A landfill in Newport, Wales, where James Howells, a Welsh IT engineer, mistakenly threw away a hard drive containing 7,500 Bitcoin (BTC) mined in 2009 and now valued at over $700 million, is set to shut down between 2025 and 2026, according to Bitcoin.com. This development comes after Howells lost a legal battle to search the landfill for the hard drive.
