Meow, co-founder of the Solana-based decentralized exchanges Jupiter and Meteora, announced on X that Meteora's co-founder, Ben Chow, has decided to step down following allegations of privately receiving or managing LIBRA tokens. Meow reaffirmed that no insider trading or financial misconduct occurred at either project and stated that the law firm Fenwick & West will conduct an independent investigation.
While Meteora has operated separately from Jupiter, Meow acknowledged concerns about Ben’s recent actions. He expressed confidence in Ben’s integrity, stating, “I believe him when he says there was no financial inappropriateness in dealing with partners.” However, he noted that Ben had demonstrated a lack of judgment and care in managing key aspects of the project in recent months. Meow reiterated Jupiter’s commitment to token transparency, its non-extractive approach and his personal stance against selling JUP.
