Bitpanda CEO: Trump-led U.S. crypto policy forcing TradFi to get involved

February 20, 2025, 5:13 PM
Eric Demuth, CEO of Austrian cryptocurrency exchange Bitpanda, has said that policy changes in the U.S. are causing banks and investors to invest more deeply in the crypto market. Consequently, long-term positions taken by these investors are being crystallized, CoinDesk reported. Demuth outlined that the crypto market is undergoing a fundamental change, moving from speculative bets to long-term, fixed investments that are less volatile. More institutional capital is flowing in. The Bitpanda CEO asserted that altcoins won’t be adopted as quickly as Bitcoin, but as U.S. regulations evolve that will change. As cryptocurrencies become a central part of U.S. economic and financial policy, the world’s largest financial institutions are paying attention, and that means banks now need to cater to this demand, Demuth claimed.
