Solana co-founder: Trump's Bitcoin EO improves regulatory clarity without industry bailout
March 07, 2025, 6:00 AM
In a recent post on X, Solana co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko weighed in on the U.S. President's Executive Order (EO) to establish a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve, describing it as a "scalpel" for its targeted approach. He pointed out that the EO does not provide government bailouts for the crypto industry, but it does help clear up some of the long-standing regulatory confusion.
Yakovenko also called for more defined regulations, including a stablecoin bill, clearer guidelines for banks on crypto transactions and specific rules from the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) regarding crypto issuance and the operation of decentralized finance (DeFi) platforms.
