Korean prosecutors identify two methods used to manipulate ACE token price

April 03, 2025, 7:06 AM
South Korean prosecutors have revealed two methods used to manipulate the price of the Fusionist (ACE) token on a local crypto exchange, according to a report by Digital Asset. The techniques were disclosed during a trial in Seoul and were used to defraud investors of 7.1 billion won ($4.85 million). The first method involved artificially inflating trading volume. Manipulators placed buy limit orders above the current market price while simultaneously placing sell limit orders below it, ensuring that transactions were executed regardless of actual market demand. The second method focused on creating fake buy pressure. It involved submitting buy orders at five different price levels, spaced at regular intervals above the last traded price. These orders were automatically canceled after three seconds, and the process was repeatedly carried out.
