Bitcoin falls 16.7% post-U.S. tariff move, lags behind traditional assets in recovery

April 16, 2025, 8:10 AM
Blockchain analytics firm CryptoQuant reported on X that Bitcoin (BTC) has fallen 16.7% since the Trump administration’s new tariff announcement, underperforming most traditional assets such as gold (+12.9%) and the S&P 500 (-13.8%). While BTC has recovered from its deeper -26.7% dip, its current position between the Nasdaq (-17.5%) and oil suggests only a partial rebound—highlighting that it still isn't acting like a safe-haven asset.
