Miners under-reporting value of ASICs to evade customs duties

Some Bitcoin miners are reporting low prices on imported ASIC mining equipment to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to reduce tariffs, CoinDesk reported, citing industry sources. Jill Ford, founder of mining equipment procurement specialist BitFord Digital called the practice fraudulent and illegal. Ford added that these miners may be able to under-declare equipment prices by 20-30%, but it has become more difficult for them to do so.
