The European Data Protection Board (EDPB) has approved draft regulations addressing the use of personal data on blockchain networks, according to Decrypt. The authority is accepting public comments on the proposals until June 9. The EDPB noted that certain characteristics of blockchains can make it difficult to meet General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) requirements. The guidelines emphasize the importance of incorporating data protection principles from the outset and ensuring the use of appropriate technical and organizational safeguards.
