Former New York Stock Exchange Group President Thomas Farley said in a recent interview with Crypto in America that tokenization of U.S. stocks could happen sooner than expected. Farley said issuers’ rights must be respected throughout the tokenization process, adding that there are currently around 2,500 issuers and that their rights, benefits and control over the stocks and tokens they issue must be guaranteed. Farley also said U.S.-listed shares had previously shifted from paper stock certificates to electronic book-entry records, and the same principle applied at that time.

Financial services firm StoneX raised its price target on Strive, which is pursuing a Bitcoin treasury strategy, to $43 from $32, while maintaining a Buy rating, The Block reported.
Mark Palmer, StoneX senior equity research analyst, said the outlook for Strive’s Bitcoin accumulation strategy has improved. Palmer said Strive strengthened the sustainability of its Bitcoin treasury strategy using preferred stock as it overhauled its capital structure. On Oct. 20, Strive completed an expanded IPO of seven million shares of SATS preferred stock with a 15% annual dividend, securing $630 million in gross proceeds before taxes. Palmer said the fundraising and warrant expirations marked a turning point in the reshaping of Strive’s capital structure. Over the past year, the company has built a model for funding Bitcoin purchases through perpetual preferred stock, and the addition of SATS alongside its existing variable-rate Series A perpetual preferred stock, SATA, allows it to address demand from different income-focused investors. Separately, Strive bought an additional 6,182 BTC from Oct. 17 to 23, bringing its total holdings to 43,000 BTC.

Zcash co-founder and core developer Sean Bowe has submitted a draft Zcash Improvement Proposal, or ZIP, to end the Zcash Community Grants, or ZCG, allocation that accounts for 8% of the block subsidy and redirect it to a Network Sustainability Mechanism, or NSM, Wu Blockchain reported. The proposal would hold the reallocated funds so they do not immediately enter circulation.
The proposal argues ZCG’s existing reserves are sufficient to continue its grant-making activities, and the share of new block subsidies previously allocated to ZCG would instead be redirected to the NSM to support the network’s long-term operations.

On-chain analyst Willy Woo said a Monte Carlo simulation of 10,000 BTC price paths showed a median outcome of $1.03 million by February 2033, according to BeInCrypto.
Woo said the result was a simulation rather than a prediction, with BTC potentially reaching roughly $240,000 to $410,000 at its 2028 peak. The Monte Carlo method referenced price data from the 2018 and 2022 bottoms and modeled both upside and downside scenarios. He added that, under the median path, BTC would rise to $413,000 by December 2028 before falling 43% to $234,000 in April 2030.
According to the simulation, the most bullish case puts BTC at $1.44 million in March 2029, while the most bearish case puts it at $51,900 in April 2030.

Binance founder Changpeng Zhao, also known as CZ, said in an interview with Andy, founder of the crypto podcast The Rollup, that tokenization of real-world assets could broaden global investor access to U.S. capital markets and described RWA as exporting U.S. capital markets on-chain.
Zhao added that RWA is a tool to help more people access assets in major markets more easily rather than replace the existing financial system. Zhao also said tokenized stocks will take a long time to gain broad adoption, but argued their value will ultimately be recognized as ownership becomes more widespread. Zhao further emphasized blockchain is a technology that all financial participants, including traditional finance, should use, and said convergence between traditional finance and the crypto industry will expand further.

The Optimism Foundation has proposed amending its operating manual to change how members of its Security Council are appointed, CryptoSlate reported. Under the proposal, disclosed on Oct. 22 local time, an elected Security Council lead would nominate candidates, and the nominees would be appointed unless the Token House, a governance body for token holders, secures 20% of votable OP supply to exercise a veto.
If approved, the revision would replace the current group-based election system with the nomination-and-veto process. It would also set a one-week review period for each candidate and a one-week veto voting period, while keeping token holders' authority to remove the lead. CryptoSlate noted the draft proposal would effectively reduce token holders' voting rights, although it remains at the draft stage.
