Crypto will coexist with, not replace, fiat, says Mercuryo CEO

Cryptocurrencies are unlikely to replace fiat currencies but will instead coexist with them, according to Petr Kozyakov, CEO of crypto payments platform Mercuryo in an interview with Cointelegraph. Kozyakov stated that the future of finance will not follow a “winner-takes-all” model. Instead, it will evolve into a hybrid system in which individuals choose between digital assets and traditional fiat currencies based on practicality and context. He emphasized that both forms of money will continue to operate in parallel, with users increasingly turning to cryptocurrencies for functional purposes such as salary payments, deposits and cross-border remittances.
