Tim Draper says businesses without Bitcoin are 'being irresponsible'

May 07, 2025, 3:44 PM
At the Financial Times Digital Assets Summit, billionaire investor Tim Draper said businesses not holding Bitcoin are "being irresponsible" citing growing adoption by governments and companies. Draper remains optimistic Bitcoin will reach $250,000 by the end of 2025 and revealed plans to launch a Bitcoin-only fund operating via smart contracts. He also noted a shift in developer focus from altcoins to Bitcoin, which now supports smart contracts, DeFi, Ordinals and Runes. Draper blamed regulatory overreach under the previous U.S. administration for delaying Bitcoin’s growth and forecasted a long-term shift from fiat to Bitcoin-driven commerce, Decrypt reported.
