A report from enterprise-grade digital assets platform Fireblocks reveals that 90% of financial institutions are either using or considering the use of stablecoins, according to Cointelegraph. Published on May 15, the survey included 295 executives from traditional banks, financial institutions, fintech companies and payment service providers. Among the respondents, 49% said they already use stablecoins for payments, 23% are running pilot programs and 18% are in the planning stage. Only 10% remain undecided about adopting stablecoins.
The report highlights that traditional banks view cross-border payments as the primary use case for stablecoins. As legacy systems continue to face challenges such as high fees, delays and inefficiencies, stablecoins are emerging as a strategic solution for business-to-business (B2B) transactions, especially in emerging markets.
