U.S. 10-year Treasury yield surges to highest level since February

The yield on the U.S. 10-year Treasury note rose to 4.613%, its highest level since Feb. 13. The 30-year yield also jumped to 5.098%, hitting a record high. Since U.S. government bonds are seen as some of the safest investments, rising yields often reflect a drop in investor appetite for riskier assets.
