BitoPro, a crypto exchange based in Taiwan, may have suffered a security breach last month that resulted in the loss of roughly $11.5 million in digital assets, according to on-chain sleuth ZachXBT via his Telegram channel. The incident, which allegedly occurred on May 8, involved suspicious activity across several of the exchange’s hot wallets on blockchain networks including Tron, Ethereum, Solana and Polygon. The assets were reportedly sold through decentralized exchanges (DEXs). The funds were later either deposited into Tornado Cash, a crypto-mixing service, or bridged to Bitcoin (BTC) through THORChain before being transferred to Wasabi Wallet, a privacy-focused BTC wallet.
