In a recent update on X, crypto services provider Matrixport highlighted that South Korean President Lee Jae-myung is pushing forward with progressive crypto reforms. His agenda includes legalizing spot Bitcoin ETFs, introducing a won-backed stablecoin, facilitating institutional crypto investment and easing restrictive exchange regulations. To support these initiatives, he has established a Digital Asset Committee tasked with formulating comprehensive crypto policies.
However, despite these efforts to align with global trends and integrate digital assets into the mainstream economy, crypto trading volumes in Korea remain subdued, indicating limited market response so far.
