Bitcoin's challenges have shifted from regulation to investor indifference, says Bitwise CEO

Hunter Horsley, CEO of Bitwise Asset Management, said in a post on X that the perceived challenges facing Bitcoin have changed, with new obstacles now emerging. He explained that many investors remain too busy to dig into Bitcoin, which they still view as complicated. Others dismiss it as “digital gold,” likening it to physical gold—an asset class many U.S. investors already tend to avoid. While regulatory uncertainty was previously seen as Bitcoin’s primary barrier, Horsley said these evolving perceptions have now become the major challenge to wider adoption. He added that his comments were not a criticism of gold, but a reflection of current investor sentiment.
