Korean financial regulator denies reported plans for Bitcoin ETFs and stablecoin rules

South Korea’s Financial Services Commission (FSC) pushed back on reports that it intends to introduce spot Bitcoin ETFs and establish a regulatory framework for stablecoins within the year, according to The Korea Economic Daily. While the agency had reportedly included both measures in a policy briefing to the National Policy Planning Committee as part of the new administration’s crypto agenda, the FSC clarified that no decisions have been officially made.
