Concerns that regulation of the AI industry could tighten after the U.S. midterm elections are affecting the crypto market as well as tech stocks, according to an analysis by Santiment.
Santiment said Bitcoin has shown a high correlation with tech stocks and remains sensitive to shifts in risk appetite. Investors are concerned that a Democratic victory in both chambers of Congress could slow AI industry expansion through tighter data center permitting, construction rules and changes to tax incentives. Santiment added selling pressure could ease if data center restrictions do not translate into actual policy, while downside pressure on AI infrastructure-related stocks and the crypto market could persist if the regulations are implemented.

Democratic wins in both chambers of Congress may delay passage of the Clarity Act and bring tougher scrutiny on the industry, but the impact on cryptocurrency trading is likely to be limited, Bitget Wallet analyst Lacie Zhang said, according to Crypto Briefing.
Zhang said there would be no immediate effect on existing regulations because federal agencies still fall under the Trump administration. Zhang added the election result would likely have only limited short-term impact on retail crypto investors and would more likely affect the pace of legislation. Zhang also said the Clarity Act is unlikely to pass in its current form during the remainder of the current congressional session or after Democrats take the majority in January, adding that further compromises on investor protection and ethics provisions would be needed for the bill to advance.

Lending protocol Alchemix said it has temporarily suspended deposits into the Transmuter on Base as it adjusts contracts for Base’s 10-fold reduction in block time on Nov. 6, and plans to resume them after the Denim network upgrade is completed.
Because the Transmuter period in Alchemix v3 is measured in blocks, conversions of existing positions and repayments for vault positions will proceed 10 times faster. For vault users, faster deleveraging means less time to secure leveraged yield before it exceeds the initial borrowing cost. Alchemix said it is building a large vault position with a 65% loan-to-value ratio to absorb the increased repayments, eliminating repayment fees for borrowers, and depositing treasury funds into Base USDC MYT. Vault users can raise leverage again now, with the cost covered by MYT donations, while mainnet and other deployment environments are not affected by the change.

OlympusDAO said it has completed the migration of the official OHM bridge to Chainlink’s CCIP, a move approved under on-chain proposal OIP-198.
The decentralized reserve asset protocol shifted OHM bridging on Arbitrum, Base, Berachain and Optimism from LayerZero to CCIP, while adding support for Robinhood Chain for the first time. Including Solana and Ethereum, which were already connected through CCIP, the migration now links all seven chains that support OHM.
Holders on those networks do not need to take any action, and token addresses will remain unchanged. OHM sent from Ethereum is locked in an Ethereum pool and released when it returns, so the total OHM supply does not change when tokens move across chains.
