The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) announced in a joint statement that they will hold a meeting on Sept. 29 to collaborate on cryptocurrency regulation.
In the statement, the agencies said they plan a comprehensive discussion on adjusting regulatory scope and easing rules for innovative technologies, such as through regulatory sandboxes. They will specifically consider introducing crypto perpetual swaps to the U.S. market, noting that these instruments are currently traded mainly on overseas exchanges due to domestic regulatory restrictions. The meeting, which will be broadcast live to the public, will also cover topics including crypto prediction markets, perpetual futures, and DeFi.Log in to leave comments!
