US Senate Democrats release crypto market structure framework

A group of 12 U.S. Senate Democrats has released a framework for cryptocurrency market structure in the United States, The Block reported. Key proposals include granting the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) authority over spot markets for non-security tokens and establishing a process to determine whether a digital asset is a security. The framework also calls for strengthening disclosure requirements for token issuers, creating tailored regulations for exchanges and custodians, and enhancing standards to prevent market manipulation and protect consumers.
