NYDFS chief calls for mutual market access for US, UK crypto firms
September 29, 2025, 5:19 PM
Adrienne Harris, the outgoing Superintendent of the New York Department of Financial Services (NYDFS), has stated that crypto companies in the U.S. and the UK should have free access to each other's markets, the Financial Times reported.
Her comments follow an announcement earlier this month by U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and UK Chancellor of the Exchequer Rachel Reeves regarding plans for a joint U.S.-UK task force, though its specific areas of focus were not detailed. The crypto industry has consistently lobbied for a system that would allow companies regulated in one market to operate in the other without undergoing a full, separate approval process.
