Binance says it paid $283M to users affected by USDe de-peg

Binance announced it has paid $283 million in compensation to users who faced forced liquidations due to the recent de-pegging of USDe, BNSOL, and WBETH. The exchange stated that the payments were completed in two installments within 24 hours of the incident.
Binance added that it also plans to compensate users who were affected by delays in internal fund transfers and redemptions from its Earn products.
The exchange refuted claims that the de-pegging event triggered a wider market crash, asserting that the market downturn occurred before the assets lost their peg. The incident followed a slump in the cryptocurrency market after U.S. President Donald Trump mentioned imposing an additional 100% tariff on Chinese goods.
