Republican bill aims to codify crypto investment for 401(k) plans

The U.S. Republican Party is advancing legislation to codify an executive order from President Donald Trump that permits 401(k) retirement plans to invest in cryptocurrency, The Block reported. Representative Troy Downing, a Republican from Montana, is set to introduce the bill, titled The Retirement Investment Choice Act. The move follows President Trump's signing of an executive order in August that allows 401(k)s to invest in alternative assets, including cryptocurrency, real estate, and private equity.
