SEC chair calls crypto and tokenization the agency's top priority

U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission Chairman Paul Atkins said that cryptocurrency and tokenization are currently the agency's most important tasks, The Block reported. Speaking at DC Fintech Week, Atkins stated that the SEC is developing a robust framework to encourage entrepreneurs and innovators who have left the U.S. to return. He added that the agency also aims to build a future-proof framework where innovation can flourish, emphasizing that the SEC wants to be known as the Securities Innovation Commission rather than the Securities and Exchange Commission.
