Bitget CEO: Altcoin season unlikely to arrive this year or next

An altcoin season is unlikely to occur this year or next, according to Gracy Chen, CEO of the cryptocurrency exchange Bitget. In a statement reported by BeInCrypto, Chen said that altcoins were severely hit by the recent crypto market downturn. She explained that while investment in early-stage Web3 projects had already dried up, the market crash has worsened the situation. As a result, Chen argued, retail investors in altcoins are now shouldering excessive risk compared to the potential rewards. Looking ahead, she predicted that only a select few projects with tangible use cases—such as stablecoins, real-world assets (RWA), and payment infrastructure—will distinguish themselves.
