Solana founder calls Layer 2 security inheritance a 'erroneous' claim

Solana (SOL) co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko has stated that the claim of Ethereum Layer 2s inheriting the security of Layer 1 is "erroneous." According to Cointelegraph, Yakovenko made the comments during a discussion with users on X about the problems with Layer 2 solutions. He emphasized that Layer 2s have notable weaknesses in security and decentralization, with user funds being controllable via multisig arrangements. Yakovenko also noted that the large scale of their code makes auditing them practically impossible.
