Binance.US says USD1 listing unrelated to Changpeng Zhao's pardon

Binance.US has stated that its listing of World Liberty Financial's stablecoin, USD1, was a business decision unrelated to the pardon of Binance founder Changpeng Zhao. According to The Block, U.S. Senator Chris Murphy had claimed that Binance listed the token as a reward immediately after President Donald Trump pardoned Zhao. Binance.US explained that USD1 is already listed on other major exchanges such as Coinbase, Robinhood, and Kraken, and that its own listing committee had approved the move before the pardon was granted.
