UAE completes first transaction with Digital Dirham CBDC

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has completed its first transaction using its central bank digital currency (CBDC), the Digital Dirham. According to Cointelegraph, the transaction was conducted via the mBridge government payment platform as part of the project's pilot phase. This marks the first time the UAE government has utilized its CBDC. The Central Bank of the UAE previously announced plans to launch the Digital Dirham in the fourth quarter of this year.
