US won't stockpile BTC until other nations force its hand, says entrepreneur

November 19, 2025, 3:38 AM
The U.S. government is unlikely to begin stockpiling Bitcoin until it is compelled to do so by the actions of other nations, according to crypto entrepreneur Mike Alfred. Speaking on the Coin Stories podcast, Alfred stated that the U.S. will only start building its BTC reserves when sufficient external pressure is applied. He explained that if a clear trend emerges of other countries acquiring Bitcoin first, the U.S. will have no choice but to respond, though he noted that the exact timing of such purchases is difficult to predict. Alfred also projected that Bitcoin could reach $1 million by 2033, by which time most countries will hold the asset either directly or indirectly.
