DeFi protocol Yearn.finance (YFI) has recovered approximately $2.4 million in assets stolen during a recent hack, The Block reported. The total damages from the incident are estimated to be around $9 million. Yearn.finance stated that the attack exploited a flaw in its unchecked arithmetic logic and a design defect, which allowed the perpetrator to mint an unlimited amount of yETH. This yETH was then used to repeatedly withdraw real collateral assets. The protocol has so far recovered 857.49 pxETH from some of the attacker's addresses and is collaborating with security partners to retrieve additional funds. According to CoinMarketCap, YFI is currently trading at $3,866.8, a decrease of 7.21%.
