Ethereum mainnet completes Fusaka upgrade
December 03, 2025, 10:02 PM
Ethereum core developers have successfully deployed the Fusaka upgrade on the mainnet, according to The Block. The deployment occurred at epoch 411392, which took place at 12:50 p.m. UTC.
This marks the first major network update in about seven months, following the Pectra upgrade last May. Starting with Fusaka, the Ethereum Foundation plans to implement hard forks twice annually. The upgrade is expected to increase mainnet capacity and improve validator efficiency. By raising the Layer 1 gas limit per block to 60 million, the update will boost transaction throughput and lower fee burdens, with throughput projected to nearly double over the next year.
