Vitalik Buterin outlines 3 key updates to minimize Ethereum attack vectors
December 04, 2025, 9:03 AM
Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin has unveiled three structural updates that will shape the network's future direction, according to U.Today.
Buterin proposed three key changes: limiting the number of contract code bytes accessible per transaction, introducing a cap on ZK-EVM prover cycles (computational load), and overhauling the EVM memory cost structure while strengthening its hard cap.
He explained that Ethereum is progressively evolving to limit the workload a single transaction or block can handle, a trend he expects to accelerate. Buterin added that these restrictions will reduce Ethereum's potential attack surface, making the network a simpler, more secure, and predictable system.
