BofA says US banks are moving toward an on-chain future

Bank of America (BofA) has analyzed that accelerating regulatory developments in the U.S. are integrating cryptocurrencies into the established financial system, pushing American banks toward a multi-year transition to on-chain operations. The bank predicts that this on-chain shift for real-world assets and payment systems will accelerate, particularly as regulatory clarity for stablecoins and deposit tokens is established. BofA analysts also forecast a future where real-world assets—including bonds, stocks, money market funds, and cross-border payments—will migrate to the blockchain, supported by the new regulatory landscape and institutional-grade infrastructure.
