Six U.S. senators have sent a letter to Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche demanding an explanation for an alleged conflict of interest involving cryptocurrency. They claim that at the time Blanche ordered a reduction in the Department of Justice's crypto enforcement and the dissolution of its national cryptocurrency investigation unit, he held up to $470,000 in cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin and Ethereum. The senators pointed out that this decision constitutes a conflict of interest and a potential violation of federal law.
