U.S. January CPI rises 2.4% YoY, below expectations

The U.S. Department of Labor announced that the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for January rose 2.4% from the same month last year, falling short of the market forecast of 2.5%. Core CPI, which excludes volatile food and energy prices, increased 2.5% year-over-year, in line with expectations.
