The index is calculated by comparing the price performance of the top 100 cryptocurrencies by market capitalization, excluding stablecoins and wrapped tokens, against Bitcoin. An 'altcoin season' is declared when 75% of these top coins have outperformed Bitcoin over the past 90 days. Conversely, it is considered a 'Bitcoin season' if Bitcoin's performance is stronger. A score closer to 100 indicates an altcoin season.
