Core Foundation to launch Zcash expansion layer 'Zprotocol' in H2

The Core Foundation, the organization building the Bitcoin-based decentralized finance (BTCFi) ecosystem, is developing a Zcash (ZEC) expansion layer called Zprotocol, The Block reported. Zprotocol will be an EVM-compatible Layer 1 blockchain that utilizes Core's Bitcoin-based consensus model, "Satoshi Plus." According to the foundation, this will support a variety of on-chain use cases within the Zcash ecosystem. The protocol is scheduled to launch in the second half of this year.
