Lightning Labs unveils tool to counter quantum attacks on BTC

Lightning Labs Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Olaoluwa Osuntokun has unveiled a tool on the Bitcoin developer mailing list designed to counter threats from quantum computers. According to CoinDesk, the tool focuses on addressing a potential problem where an emergency upgrade to defend against quantum attacks could inadvertently lock some users out of their funds. The tool is designed as an escape mechanism to protect user assets, leveraging the secret seed phrase used to create a Bitcoin wallet to prove legitimate ownership.
