US senators call Trump's memecoin event appearance 'bait'

Three U.S. senators, including Elizabeth Warren, have questioned whether President Donald Trump will attend a conference for the TRUMP memecoin scheduled for April 25. According to Cointelegraph, the senators sent a letter to Bill Zanker, who led the memecoin's launch, pointing out that the president is also scheduled to attend the White House Correspondents' Association dinner in Washington, D.C., on the same day. They accused the organizers of using a potential meeting with the president as bait to promote the conference and encourage coin purchases, despite the high likelihood of his absence. The TRUMP project's own terms and conditions state that the president may not attend the April 25 event and that it could be canceled for any reason.
