US March CPI rises 3.3% YoY, below forecast

The U.S. Consumer Price Index (CPI) for March rose 3.3% from the same month last year, coming in below the market forecast of 3.4%, the Department of Labor announced. Core CPI, which excludes volatile food and energy prices, increased 2.6% year-over-year, also falling short of the projected 2.7%.
