Iran says reopening of Strait of Hormuz is conditional

An Iranian Defense Ministry spokesperson has stated that the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz is contingent on a ceasefire and other conditions. Brigadier General Reza Talaeinik specified that warships and vessels associated with hostile forces are not permitted to transit the strait. The spokesperson also described the current situation as temporary, adding that the strait could be closed again if circumstances in Lebanon change, Al Jazeera reported.
