US plans intensified strikes on Iran's Hormuz assets if truce fails: CNN

The U.S. military is developing new operational plans to strike Iranian military capabilities around the Strait of Hormuz should the current ceasefire agreement with Iran collapse, CNN reported, citing multiple sources. The plans place a particular emphasis on "dynamic strikes" against Iranian forces in the Strait of Hormuz, the southern Persian Gulf, and the Gulf of Oman. Key targets could include asymmetric assets such as small, fast attack boats and minelaying ships, which Iran has reportedly used to effectively blockade the strategic waterway. While the U.S. military has previously struck the Iranian navy, the initial month of bombings was largely concentrated on bases far from the strait. The new plan calls for more focused operations around the waterway itself.
