Speaker Johnson says US not at war with Iran, no vote required

Johnson explained that he does not see any active military bombing, shelling, or similar operations currently underway. He described the situation as a phase for achieving peace and stated that he does not want to interfere with the administration's sensitive negotiations. When asked if the military conflict was approaching the 60-day deadline stipulated by the War Powers Resolution, he reiterated that the U.S. is not at war. Johnson added that peace is being pursued through patrol missions in the Strait of Hormuz and that the administration is acting as aggressively as possible, with nothing more Congress could do to facilitate the process.
