Walrus launches 'MemWal' memory SDK for AI agents
April 30, 2026, 6:03 PM
Sui (SUI)-based storage protocol Walrus (WAL) has officially launched MemWal, a memory layer and SDK product designed for artificial intelligence agents, Decrypt reported. MemWal is intended to provide verifiability, availability, portability, and shareability to agent memory. Abinhav Garg, a product manager at Mysten Labs, the developer of Sui and Walrus, explained that using Walrus and MemWal together stores memory on an open and verifiable data layer, eliminating dependency on any single AI model or provider. He added that this allows users to freely switch between AI models like ChatGPT and Claude and leverage new applications that can remember user-specific cues.
