Trump says he may break Iran ceasefire

April 30, 2026, 7:12 PM
U.S. President Donald Trump said on April 30 that he has not ruled out breaking the current ceasefire with Iran and resuming military action. When asked by reporters if he would scrap the deal, Trump blamed Tehran's 'stubborn' attitude for creating setbacks in negotiations and questioned who was actually leading the country. He suggested that while he was not certain if breaking the agreement would be required, it might ultimately be necessary. President Trump also described a potential Iranian blockade of the Strait of Hormuz as unthinkable and claimed Washington has destroyed Iran's nuclear development capabilities.
