Iranian source says deep distrust of US remains

It remains unclear whether Iran's latest proposal is sufficient to bring both sides back to the negotiating table. The source indicated that Tehran might consider resuming negotiations if the U.S. lifts its blockade on Iranian ports and Iran, in turn, fully reopens the Strait of Hormuz. The U.S. has maintained that Iran must unconditionally allow all vessels to pass through the strait, but it has not been confirmed if Iran's latest proposal includes this concession.
