Coinbase resumes trading after AWS outage

Coinbase has resumed trading services that were halted due to an Amazon Web Services (AWS) outage. According to Cointelegraph, the disruption began after rising temperatures at an AWS data center in Northern Virginia caused problems with some infrastructure. During the outage, Coinbase switched its market to a "cancel-only" mode, later restoring trading functions sequentially through an "auction" mode. The company explained that while its systems are designed to handle a failure in a single AWS availability zone, this incident involved simultaneous issues across multiple zones, causing a prolonged disruption to core trading services. All exchange, web, and mobile app functions have now been fully restored.
