Seven major BTC mining pools adopt Stratum V2 standard

Seven major Bitcoin mining pools, collectively representing about 75% of the network's total hashrate, have announced their adoption of the new Stratum V2 standard, CoinDesk reported. The participating pools include Foundry, AntPool, F2Pool, SpiderPool, MARA Pool, Block Inc, and DMND. Stratum V2 is an updated protocol for communication between miners and pools that enhances security and efficiency. Crucially, it shifts the authority to select which transactions are included in a block from the pool operator to individual miners. The move is being viewed within the industry as a significant step toward decentralizing the mining ecosystem and alleviating concerns about its centralization.
